Well, neither of us have ever had a blog, but we thought this might be a good time to start. It's easier to post on a blog than to send out mass emails, and that way you can check whenever you like. We'll try to post pictures and updates regularly...although the internet connection isn't always great.
We have now been in Zambia for almost 3 weeks and are finally feeling settled. We are both currently healthy, after a fairly rough start. Chad and his digestion problems, me and the flu, or a bad cold...or something. We were afraid this country was rejecting us...but now we seem to be OK.
We have been relatively busy, although we don't have much to show for it. We are learning the public transit systems, the layout of the city so we don't get lost when we are on a bus, how to convert dollars into Kwacha (there's nothing like taking out 1.5 million Kwacha from the bank machine!), trying the food, playing with the kids in our home, meeting with government officials regarding our adoption program, and enjoying our backyard pool.
We haven't seen much of the city yet so we are hoping that within the next several weeks we'll get more of a chance to sight see and travel around Lusaka and into the country.
We are going to try to post some pictures of our neighbourhood, just so you can get an idea of where we are living. We'll write more soon!
